The Neo-Baroque Ensemble EUROPA RITROVATA is an international collective that breathes new life into 18th century repertoire and contemporary music. 

 

Collaborating with contemporary composers, choreographers, and film makers, the ensemble seeks to create a new repertoire for period instruments. Founded in 2013, the Brussels-based ensemble has performed at Coudenberg Palace, The Belgian Museum of Freemasonry, the Jacquemart-André Museum in Paris, the Courtauld Institute of Art in Venice and many others.

Their site-specific, interactive baroque soirées have been described as “spectacular” (Brussels Museum Council) and “unusual” (Le Vif). Their debut album, AFFECT IS NO CRIME released by Arcana (Outhere Music) features world premiere recordings of works composed by Jacqueline Fontyn, Hans-Martin Linde, Jocelyn Morlock, Thanos Polymeneas Liontiris and Jukka Tiensuu.

 

The roster of EUROPA RITROVATA features some of the top young Baroque musicians from around the world, including the Italian traverso player and musicologist Matteo Gemolo, Italian Baroque violinist Patrizio Germone, Afghani-Czech viol player Miron Andres and German harpsichordist Lisa Kokwenda Schweiger. Their usually perform at internationally renewed venues and festivals such as Utrecht Oude Muziek Festival, Concertgebouw Brugge, Chateau de Versailles, De Singel, Venetian Centre for Baroque Music, New Year Festival Gstaad, Grandezza & Meraviglie Modena, Euro Classica Online Festival, Bozar and others.

The musicians also perform with internationally renewed orchestras on period instruments such as Collegium Vocale,  Gli Incogniti, Scherzi Musicali, Vox Luminis, Les Muffatti, Orfeo 55, Ensemble Pyglamion, The musicians completed their studies with important teachers including Barthold and Wieland Kuijken, Philippe Pierlot, Randal Cook, Enrico Onofri.

 

EUROPA RITROVATA's mission is to bring their reimagined Baroque and contemporary music to open-minded audiences in Europe and abroad.
